Help Argentina's senate has begun discussing a controversial plan to ban mining in parts of the country in order to protect the fragile environment of the Andean glaciers.
The frozen rivers attract hundreds of thousands of tourists every year but can be badly damaged by mines and oil wells.
Argentina's powerful mining industry is bitterly opposed to the proposed restrictions.
